What dog is better for my climate ? chihuahua, or toy poodle ? - toy desert eagles

I live in the Mojave Desert. In winter it can get very cold and very hot in summer. I've heard Chihuahuas are sensitive to cold, is a toy poodle (or perhaps small, but certainly not) standard, to be better in this climate?

I need advice to decide which dog to keep.
