A question for anyone who has suffered from Henoch-schonlein purpura? Please share your experience...? - purpura from basketball

I was with a diagnosis of Henoch-Schonlein purpura (skin rash), although the biopsy results were inconclusive. I did in January and has since disappeared, but it's still there. I want other people who listen have suffered from this situation. How long are you going with him and a few tips to suffer around this situation?

Most patients do not receive treatment because of the high rate of recovery. ), Corticosteroids (class of steroid hormones is the rate of recovery from arthritis or abdominal pain increased, but not prevent them from again.

Renal Disease. The treatment is only considered those with severe proteinuria and / or renal insufficiency and patients in this situation should do a kidney biopsy, since the height of the growing clusters a prognostic factor. In patients with nephritis (> 50% of glomeruli), increased with pulse IV methylprednisolone, 250-1000 mg / day for three days followed by oral prednisone (1 mg / kg / day for three months). This system is used to reduce inflammation and no deposition of IgA itself. Plasmapheresis (plasma) can exchange curative, but the data are inconclusive. IVIG has been tested in patients with heavy proteinuria and reduced glomerular filtration rate.

Renal transplantation. One can see in those suffering from kidney disease, end, even if recidivism is frequent, as hypercellularity and mesangial IgA deposation into the graft. It occurs in approximately 35% of transplanted patients after 5 years with 10% of patients, graft loss due to recurrence. It is recommended that the transplant will be delayed for 12-24 months after the disappearance of the purple.
